And so, with the call of Arctus, the fighters took off from the tree towards the Beaks. The younger, inexperienced owls are rushing around, co-rybs barking orders, nestmaids slithering quickly with supplies and armour, the forge burning far hotter than usual.
Astoll, the head medic, has pulled in some trainees to help out in the Infirmary as injured owls fly home to be treated. Astoll had stumbled from the Parliament as soon as Arctus had given the word. He barked at those rushing around to move. He needed to get to the Infirmary as soon as possible, but before that, he needed to pull in some trainees. Flapping up where he could see them (which was rather far away), he saw a group of trainees. The old owl flew down beside them, standing tall. "Right, you lot. You are coming with me," he said. "To help in the infirmary. Come on we don't have all day." he flew up and into the Infirmary. He shuddered as he heard the voice of Flinker, a young, cheeky little trainee who was known to annoy some of the older owls with his pranks.
"Is there going to be a big fight, Astoll?" he asked quietly. Through his thick, strange accent he sounded afraid, so afraid. Astoll turned, and lifted his wing, and was about to speak, opening his beak then stopping. He turned away, walking to his desk. How could he tell the young ones that their friends and parents might not come back today? How could he say anything like that? He was about to start again when he heard the voice of a nestmaid.
"Yes, Flinker," it was Naleah, Elhana's nestmaid. "Some owls may not come back. Others will come back hurt. That's why you are here. Astoll is going to teach you some basic medical procedures."

Uria Uria knew a day like this would come. She just hadn't known it would be so soon. Uria had barely settled in when the rumors started up about a battle and everything went crazy at the tree. She wasn't sure what would happen but she knew her options. Her training had taught her to either avoid the battlefield and keep a tab on the goings-on at their base, or to join the battle and turn on the guardians there. Uria wasn't ready to leave the tree yet. She was actually starting to like the tree and it's inhabitants, although they were her sworn enemies.
The voice of a long ago owl came to her. 'Don't question us again, Uria. Or you will find out how wrong you are.' That statement that had chained her to her fate as a remnant haunted her even now. 'If the guardians were so bad, why would they take in strange owls? Isn't that kindness? Since I've been here, not once have I felt out of place. I was welcomed. How can an enemy be kind?' [/i] But then another thought crossed her mind, 'Isn't it simply because they don't know who you really are? Where you really came from? If they knew you are a remnant, you would be killed swiftly and on the spot.' Uria sighed. Around her trainees where chatting about the battle and who would do what. It was then that Astoll appeared. When she saw Astoll, the head medic gathering trainees to become medics for the fight, she knew she had found her place in this battle. She went up to Astoll and bravely asked, "Can I join the medics?" She had never really spoken with this owl but she figured he wouldn't turn down help. It also would give her time to think about what she was going to do. [/blockquote] [/size]
