It took a lot of courage to fly over these waters, and the owl gliding through it's wake, often tilting and tumbling with the harsh waves. His wings were large and took air underneath them with the race of a true Masked Owl. He let out a sharp cry of enjoyment at managing to leave the premises of the Ga'Hoole tree. His face was pure white, but it was mostly around his dark eyes. Ridge of chesnut colour lines his face, almost delicate like a jeweled ring. His chest feathers consisted of white, with dark beige and black brown speckles. He was a beauty, even if he was still young. His dark eyes swept over the darkness of the sea. He knew that, even if it were reasonably possible, nothing would be daring enough to be caught down near the waves. But you can't be certain, even if something isn't as it seems. So Masq shuffled his wings and curved a neat line to head around the island. His beak clacked, and his talons clenched with amusement. He was gleeking off, that was something to be recognised immediately. There was nothing funny about it. It was dangerous what he was doing. He was slowly heading down near the waves, until he could hear the roar of the water crashing in his small ear slits. A sharp cry eminated from Masq's beak, and he swished over and over across the waters edge.
Something caught his eye, and the sound of wings swept over his ears heading. But he couldn't quite place what it was. He knew it was an owl, and he quickly had the thought it was someone from the tree coming to give him a flint mop. But something in his gizzard told him otherwise. But he couldn't be relaxed now, and he most definately had to watch. He was apart of the Search and Rescue, anything owlike, and near danger was something he had to keep his eye out for. He let out a sharp hoot, wondering if the owl that he heard would answer. If it did, he would find it immediately. He was one of the best Chaw members in that specific chaw. |

Remember to read each movement of the ocean and know how to move with the winds it gives.
The beautiful sun was shining bright today, glowing off the white clouds that were slowly drifting above her and the sea below was always moving with power. Its blue shine had always amazed the young masked owl, always changing ever so slightly to match it's unpredictable moods. Of course, nothing was ever unpredictable for the Ocean rider as she had lived so close to it for almost 2 years. Those could say she was just being a dare owl, testing her life with the will of the sea. But no, she has become to love this vast blue jewel and wanted to learn everything she could about this gift of the world.
Her gentle flaps of her long feathered wings took her quite far out across the ocean, gliding sometimes for a good 12 mins before allowing herself to flap again. Her name was Aqua, a name that took quite well to what she is now is. Strong, fast and oddly gifted in a way, she has learned to ride the ocean winds and even fly close to the raging waters. Being that she can do this so well, her feathers and fegires began to change ever so slightly to match the life she now lives. Her wings feathers grew longer then normal, almost three to five inches then before and the design on them seemed to mimic even the ocean waters with every line in perfect harmony. Aqua's head, part of her neck, back and part of her tail feathers were a mix of brown, tan and bits of orange. As for the tip of her tail however, it is pure black.
After what seemed like four hours or more, Aqua flapped her wings yet again and ascended higher toward the ever shining clouds. She was indeed aware that she was getting close to the tree, her home that was once her own. But yet, she had always steered clear of it and kept herself from being seen by many guardians that pass by. Silence was always the same with her, never noisy and hardly making a sound. However, it took her only seconds to realize that she had just flew over yet another owl and was almost shocked by the sudden encounter that she nearly forgot what she was doing. Luckily for the young masked owl, she just had to descend a bit in order to gain her flight back. Before long though, a sharp hoot broke the silent skies and Aqua descended a bit more with her wings still gliding on the salty winds. It sounded just like a masked owl, only more male like and strong. Is a remment or a Guardian? She couldn't really tell and as she flapped her wings to turn around, her thoughts about safety began to take focus. Much as before but skillful this time, the young masked owl folded her long feathered wings and descended even more toward the ocean below her. She could hear the ocean's waves get louder with each descend and could feel the power of it within her own feathers. This is good enough. She told herself, spreading her wings out again and flapped them in order to keep balance above the now loud currents. Once she found a perfect catch of the wind, she let herself glide close to the sea and moved every once in a while when a wave started to appear. Knowing that this was her way to escape any owls that weren't welcome, she let out a sharp hoot of her own, which sounded alot louder thanks to the added sounds of the waves.
"Now only time will tell." Aqua spoke to herself, gliding close to the ocean with her eyes flickering up into the sky above her.
